Inland Hospital Awarded 2014 Leapfrog Top Hospital Distinction
Recognition Highlights the Nation’s Premier Hospitals for Safety and Quality
Waterville, Maine – December 3, 2014 - For the fourth time in five years, the Leapfrog Group has named Inland Hospital in Waterville to its annual list of Top Hospitals. An elite distinction awarded to hospitals nationwide for demonstrating excellence in hospital safety and quality through the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, the Leapfrog Top Hospital award is given to less than seven percent of all eligible hospitals. The awards, which are given annually, were announced at Leapfrog’s Annual Meeting and Top Hospital Awards on December 2, in Washington, D.C.
Inland Hospital is part of EMHS, a statewide health system. It was one of only nine hospitals in Maine honored with the Top Rural Hospital award, and one of only 60 in the nation.
“We are so pleased to be recognized again this year,” said John Dalton, Inland’s President and CEO. “I am very proud of our staff who make safety and quality a priority every day at Inland. They are to be commended for achieving excellence on a continuous basis. The culture here is to always put the patient first, even when it’s not easy or convenient. The selection is based on the results of The Leapfrog Group’s annual hospital survey, which measures hospitals’ performance on patient safety and quality, focusing on three critical areas of hospital care: how patients fare, resource use and management structures established to prevent errors. Performance across many areas of hospital care is considered in establishing the qualifications for the award, including rates for high-risk procedures and a hospital’s ability to prevent medication errors.

The Top 100 reflects individuals whose ideas, innovations and accomplishments have impacted the world of contingent work and influenced people’s perception of talent and how it can be used. Troy Gregory is president and CEO of System One Holdings, LLC. The Pittsburgh-based firm is the fifth- largest U.S. engineering staffing firm and 35th-largest U.S. staffing firm overall. Gregory guided the firm through two acquisitions: engineering provider MOUNTAIN, LTD.™ along with parent company Joulé Inc. in the third quarter of 2013 and Compliance, a legal staffing business, from Randstad in 2011. Earlier in 2008, Gregory led the management buyout of System One from the Hudson Highland Group. His previous posts include EVP of Hudson Legal and CEO of legal staffing firms Gregory & Gregory and Attorneys on Assignment before they were acquired by TMP Worldwide/Monster, which later divested the operations.
In related news, System One achieved another growth milestone with its inclusion on the 2014 Global 100, Staffing Industry Analyst’s list of the world’s largest staffing and talent engagement firms. The company ranked 94th on the annual list.

Joe Hosmer, founder and former owner of MOUNTAIN, LTD.™, visited with our Maine-based telecommunications recruiting team yesterday. He conducted his “Phone School”, an industry specific training used extensively while he operated MOUNTAIN for over 25 years. The course encompasses a variety of Outside Plant concepts and principles, an invaluable knowledge base our recruiters tap into daily.

Prior to joining MOUNTAIN, LTD., and over the course of 14 years, Rich Valladao has held increasing responsibilities in the staffing, engineering and telecommunications industry. Additionally, Valladao worked for a Silicon Valley start-up company and also worked in the financial services industry.
Mr. Valladao earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Chico, and is a member of the California State University Alumni Association.
